In our attempt to try all the best pizza in South Brooklyn, we came upon AvenUe Pizza on Avenue U in Bensonhurst. A very nice place that serves not only pizza of various types but also burgers and Italian dishes. We kept our lunch to pizza, trying the regular slice, the regular Sicilian, a veggie slice, a pepperoni slice and one of Mellie’s specials, Mellie being the manager of AvenUe Pizza. All were terrific, with my daughter saying that she wanted to order from AvenUe the next time she and her girlfriend were going to eat out. High praise indeed from my pizza-snob offspring. Mellie was very nice and also a huge Knicks fan. Another successful pizza outing!
