Tasty Hand-Pulled Noodles, Chinatown, Manhattan

After leaving the celebration of the Knicks championship, we headed into Chinatown to have a nice lunch at Wo Hop. Sadly, we were not the only ones with this idea. I’ve been to Wo Hop many times so I can figure out how long the wait is and the wait yesterday was way longer way way way longer than I was ready to wait. So, we figured we’d go to another terrific Chinese restaurant in Chinatown just two doors down from Wo Hop, Hop Kee. It didn’t look like there was much of a line but once we started to descend the stairs down to the restaurant, we saw the gaggle of people so we turned around and decided where next. I always wanted to try Tasty Hand-Pulled Noodles on Doyers Street, right next to Nom Wah, so this seemed like a great time.

What to Order

Our wait was about 10 minutes for a table outside, which was lovely and we ordered a different topping over our hand, pulled noodles; tofu chicken, pork, nice little selection there and no we did not share. Everything was fabulous. The meal was plentiful. Service was very attentive and we were really happy with it. $50 plus tip for three people for lunch I’ll take that any day of the week.

Good to know before you go

• Dress code: Whatever you happen to have on. Very casual seemed the order of the day.
• Hours: Open 7 days a week, 10:30am – 10:30pming ahead to confirm before you go, since restaurant hours shift.
• For special occasions: Great for communal eating, though the wait can be long for large parties
• Reservations: None taken, just a wait list at the restaurant. Indoors is small, so best to eat outside, weather permitting
